Emergency Binder Parent Guide
Learn how to complete the emergency binder, add photographs, print all six pages, or save a private PDF.
Before you begin
Contact and medical information
Gather emergency contact details, allergies, medical conditions, medications, dosage instructions, doctor information, and the preferred hospital or clinic.
Communication and safety information
Think about communication needs, sensory needs, triggers, calming techniques, safety risks, safe people, and the best way to help.
Child photographs
You may add up to six recent photographs showing different clothing, hairstyles, expressions, or everyday appearances.
Contact photographs
You may also add one photograph for the primary, secondary, and additional contact as a visual reference.
Complete the six pages
- 1. Cover Enter the child’s name and choose a featured photograph.
- 2. Emergency Contact Add contact names, relationships, phone numbers, emails, and photos.
- 3. Medical Information Add allergies, conditions, medications, doctor details, and notes.
- 4. Sensory Needs Explain what helps, overwhelms, is needed, and provides calm.
- 5. Communication Profile Explain how the child communicates and understands information.
- 6. Safety Information Add triggers, risks, safe people, instructions, and important notes.
How to build the binder
Fill in one page at a time
Use the numbered page buttons to move through the binder. Entered information appears immediately in the printable preview.
Add up to six child photos
Select JPG, PNG, or WebP photographs from the device. The photographs remain only in temporary browser memory.
Assign photos to pages
Choose a specific numbered photograph, use the first available photograph automatically, or select no photograph.
Adjust the crop
Use Zoom, Left/Right, and Up/Down. You can also drag the photograph directly inside the page preview.
Add contact photos
On the Emergency Contact page, select the photo button for the primary, secondary, or additional contact.
Review every page
Check spelling, phone numbers, medication details, photographs, and page alignment before printing or saving.
Print or save on a computer
1. Select Print / Save PDF
2. Choose a printer or Save as PDF

Phone and tablet instructions
Android using Chrome
Finish the binder and choose Print / Save PDF. If needed, open Chrome’s menu and choose Share or Print. Select Save as PDF or a connected printer.
iPhone or iPad using Safari
Open the print preview and spread two fingers apart on the page preview. Choose the Share button and select Save to Files. For paper copies, choose an available AirPrint printer.
Your information remains private
The builder makes no account, form submission, server upload, cookie, analytics record, or saved browser record. Entries and photographs remain only in the open browser tab until you print or save them.
The completed binder contains sensitive contact and medical information. Store printed and digital copies securely and give them only to trusted caregivers, schools, medical providers, or responders who need them.
